| CVE reference: | CVE-2006-4217 CVE-2006-4196
|
|
Description: Two vulnerabilities have been discovered in WEBInsta CMS, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
Input passed to the "templates_dir" parameter in index.php and to the "module_dir" parameter in modules/usersonline/users.php isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from external and local resources.
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 0.3.1 and 0.4.0a (only the "module_dir" parameter). Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
Use another product.
Provided and/or discovered by: M.Hasran Addahroni (templates_dir)
Yns (module_dir)
Changelog: 2006-09-16: Added additional information provided by Yns.
2006-08-25: Added CVE references.
2006-09-05: Added information about additional vulnerable version 0.4.0a.
