Beskrivelse:
INFIGO IS har fundet nogle sårbarheder i MDaemon, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at kompromittere et sårbart system.

Sårbarhederne skyldes ikke-kontrollerede buffere i POP3-serveren og kan udnyttes til at forårsage et heap-baseret buffer overflow ved at supplere en meget lang streng til kommandoen "USER" eller "APOP".

Succesfuld udnyttelse muliggør eksekvering af vilkårlig kode.

Sårbarhederne er bekræftet i version 9.0.5, men tidligere versioner kan også være berørte.
