Description:
A security issue has been reported in AIX, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The problem is that mkvg invokes various other programs (chdev, mkboot, varyonvg, and varyoffvg) without absolute pathnames. This may be exploited to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of a user running mkvg by placing a malicious program in the path.
