|
Description: James Bercegay has discovered some vulnerabilities in CubeCart, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks, and to disclose sensitive information.
1) Input passed to the "links" parameter array is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
2) Input passed to the "searchArray[]" parameter when performing a search is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries in includes/content/viewCat.inc.php. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation of #1 and #2 requires that "register_globals" is enabled.
3) Input passed to the "gateway" parameter in includes/content/gateway.inc.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources.
Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 3.0.12. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Apply patch, which fixes vulnerabilities #1 and #2. To fix #3 edit the source code in includes/content/gateway.inc.php according to the included manual patch instructions.
