Description: Will Drewry has reported some vulnerabilities in GDB, which potentially can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges or malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerabilities are caused due to boundary errors within the handling of DWARF or DWARF2 information. This may be exploited to execute arbitrary code with the permissions of a user opening a specially crafted binary or core file with GDB.
Solution: Do not open untrusted binaries or core files with GDB.
Provided and/or discovered by: Will Drewry, Google Security Team.
