Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in Novell Identity Manager, which can be exploited by certain malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system.

Certain input passed to the Fan-Out Linux and UNIX receiver shell scripts via the Identity Manager isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary commands.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with root privileges, but requires administrative access to the Identity Manager.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 3.0.1. Prior versions may also be affected.
