Description: A vulnerability has been reported in cPanel, which can be exploited by malicious users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due insufficient checks of certain environment variables before calling setuid root wrapper scripts. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code with escalated privileges by e.g. setting the "PERL5LIB" environment variable to a directory containing malicious perl modules.
Successful exploitation requires access to a cPanel account.
