Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in IBM AIX, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error in uucp. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary commands with uucp privileges.

Solution:
Apply Interim fixes until APARs are available.

ftp://aix.software.ibm.com/aix/efixes/security/uucp_ifix.tar.Z

AIX 5.2.0:
Apply IY88565 (available).

AIX 5.3.0:
Apply IY88614 (available approx. 2006-10-04).
