Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in JAF CMS, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks and compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the "message" parameter in jafshout.php and the "name", "url", "title", and "about" parameters when posting in the forum is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which is executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed.

This can also be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary PHP code via the "message" parameter passed in jafshout.php.

2) Input passed to the "website" and "main_dir" parameters in module/forum/forum.php, module/forum/main.php, and module/forum/headlines.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by including files from local or external resources.

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 4.0 RC1. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and verified.
