Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Comdev News Publisher, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

Input passed to the "path[docroot]" parameter in include.php and adminfoot.php, and potentially more files isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from external and local resources.

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 4.1 and are also reported in version 3.1. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.

Set "register_globals" to "Off".

Provided and/or discovered by:
rUnViRuS and disfigure

Changelog:
2006-10-19: Updated "Description" section. Added additional information about "adminfoot.php".
