Description:
Stefan Esser has reported a vulnerability in ViewVC, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

The vulnerability is caused due to the application not sending a charset HTTP header nor specifying a charset in the HTML body. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site via UTF-7 encoded script code.

The vulnerability is reported in version 1.0.2. Prior versions may also be affected.
