Description:
mdx and The_Bat_Hacker have discovered some vulnerabilities in Brim, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

Input passed to the "renderer" parameter in multiple files is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by including files from local or external resources.

Examples:
http://[host]/templates/barrel/template.tpl.php?renderer=[file]
http://[host]/templates/barry/template.tpl.php?renderer=[file]
http://[host]/templates/nifty/template.tpl.php?renderer=[file]
http://[host]/templates/oerdec/template.tpl.php?renderer=[file]
http://[host]/templates/pda/template.tpl.php?renderer=[file]
http://[host]/templates/penguin/template.tpl.php?renderer=[file]
http://[host]/templates/sidebar/template.tpl.php?renderer=[file]
http://[host]/templates/text-only/template.tpl.php?renderer=[file]

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.2.1. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 1.2.2c.

Provided and/or discovered by:
mdx and The_Bat_Hacker
