Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in GraphicsMagick, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.

1) A boundary error within the "ReadDCMImage()" function in coders/dcm.c can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow when processing specially crafted DCM images.

2) Several boundary errors within the "ReadPALMImage()" function in coders/palm.c can be exploited to cause heap-based buffer overflows when processing specially crafted PALM images.

Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities may allow the execution of arbitrary code.

3) An error exists in the delegate code, which can be exploited to execute arbitrary shell commands.

For more information:
SA18261

4) A format string error exists when handling filenames received via command line arguments.

For more information:
SA18261

5) An integer overflow error within the "ReadDCMImage()" function can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow.

For more information:
SA24721

6) An integer overflow error within the "ReadSGIImage()" function can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow when processing specially crafted SGI image files.

For more information:
SA21462

7) A boundary error within the "GenerateEXIFAttribute()" function in magick/attribute.c can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow when processing specially crafted EXIF images.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow execution of arbitrary code.

8) An integer overflow error exists in the "ReadBMPImage()" function in coders/bmp.c. This can be exploited to cause a DoS when processing specially crafted BMP images.

9) An error exists in the processing of premature "end of files" within the "ReadBlobStringWithLongSize()" function in coders/xcf.c. This can be exploited to cause a DoS when parsing specially crafted XCF files.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 1.1.8.
