| CVE reference: | CVE-2006-5634
|
|
Description: v1per-haCker has discovered some vulnerabilities in phpProfiles, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
Input passed to the "reqpath" parameter in users/include/body.inc.php and users/include/body_blog.inc.php, and to the "usrinc" parameter in users/include/upload_ht.inc.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local or external resources.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.1 and 2.1.1 Beta. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified or disable "register_globals".
Provided and/or discovered by: v1per-haCker
Changelog: 2006-11-02: Added CVE reference.
2006-11-06: Updated "Description" section. Added vulnerable version.
