|
Description: ajann has discovered a vulnerability in phpManta, which can be exploited by malicious people to gain knowledge of sensitive information.
Input passed to the "file" parameter in Mdoc/view-sourcecode.php is not properly sanitised before being used to display files with syntax highlighting. This can be exploited to gain access to arbitrary files via directory traversal attacks.
Gaining access to files having other file extensions than ".php" requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
The vulnerability is confirmed in versions 1.0.2 and 1.0.3. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
Provided and/or discovered by: ajann
Changelog: 2006-11-16: Added CVE reference.
