LMH has reported a vulnerability in Fedora Core, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to a NULL pointer dereference error within the "init_journal()" function. This can be exploited to cause a crash by mounting a specially crafted image as gfs2 file system.
The vulnerability is reported in Fedora Core 6. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Allow only trusted users to mount images.
