Description: Aria-Security Team have reported some vulnerabilities in Helm Web Hosting Control Panel, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
1) Input passed to the "txtDomainName" parameter in interfaces/standard/domains.asp, the "txtCompanyName" and "txtEmail" parameters in interfaces/standard/users.asp, and the "setThemeColour" parameter in interfaces/standard/default.asp is not properly sanitised before it is returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
Successful exploitation requires that the target has valid credentials on the user, reseller, or administrator level.
2) Input passed to the "txtUserAccNum" parameter in interfaces/standard/users.asp is not properly sanitised before it is returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
Successful exploitation requires that the target has valid credentials on the reseller or administrator level.
The vulnerabilities are reported in version 3.2.10. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Provided and/or discovered by: Aria-Security Team
