Description: Evgeny Legerov has reported a vulnerability in Helix DNA Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an integer overflow when handling DESCRIBE requests in server\protocol\rtsp\rtspprot.cpp. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted DESCRIBE request with an overly long, invalid LoadTestPassword field.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is reported in versions 11.0 and 11.1. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 11.1.3.
Provided and/or discovered by: Evgeny Legerov, GLEG Ltd.
Changelog: 2006-11-22: Added CVE reference.
