Description

A security issue has been reported in Apple Remote Desktop, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The problem is caused due to insecure default permissions on the included built-in packages used to install and upgrade client systems. This can be exploited to modify the packages on Apple Remote Desktop admin systems.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code with "root" privileges on client systems when installing or updating the software.

Solution
Update to version 3.1.
