Description: Sun has acknowledged a vulnerability in Sun Solaris, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error and can be exploited to disable the snmpd daemon.
The vulnerability is reported in Solaris 10 with the "SUNWsmagt" package installed. Other versions of Sun Solaris may also be affected, if users built or installed a vulnerable version of the Net-SNMP package.
Solution: The vendor recommends to stop the Net-SNMP service from listening on TCP port 161.
