Description

Vincent Audet Ménard has reported some vulnerabilities in AlternC, which can be exploited by malicious users to disclose sensitive information, to conduct script insertion attacks, or to bypass certain security restrictions.

1) Input passed to parameters when creating directories is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious data is viewed.

2) An input validation error exists when creating files and directories. This can be exploited to create files and directories via directory traversal attacks.

3) An input validation error exists when configuring a subdomain. This can be exploited to gain read access to arbitrary files with privileges of the web server by including directory traversal sequences when specifying the web root.

4) An error exist due to the application storing the SQL password within a cookie in plaintext once the user used phpmyadmin in AlternC.

The vulnerabilities are reported in 0.9.5. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution
Some vulnerabilities are reportedly fixed in version 0.9.6.
