Description: Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in AtomixMP3, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerabilities are caused due to boundary errors in the parsing of M3U files containing an overly long file name (greater than 520 bytes) and PLS playlist files containing an overly long file name or title (greater than 520 bytes). This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted playlist file.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.3. Other versions may also be affected.
