Beskrivelse:
LMH har fundet en sårbarhed i Apple Quicktime, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at kompromittere en brugers system.

Sårbarheden skyldes en ikke-kontrolleret buffer under håndteringen af RTSP URLs. Dette kan udnyttes til at forårsage et stack-baseret buffer overflow via en specielt udformet QTL-fil med en lang (mere end 256 bytes) "src" parameter (f.eks. "rtsp://[vilkårlige tegn]:[>256 bytes]").

Succesfuld udnyttelse muliggør eksekvering af vilkårlig kode, når brugeren f.eks. besøger et ondsindet website eller åbner en QTL-fil.

Sårbarheden er bekræftet i version 7.1.3.100 (Windows) og yderligere rapporteret i Mac OS X versionen.
