Description: Michael Ligh and Greg Sinclair have reported some vulnerabilities in FirePass, which can be exploited by malicious users and malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.
1) An error exists in the host access restrictions, which can be exploited to access restricted hosts by converting the destination IP address to a decimal-encoded format and sending the resulting URL via the FirePass URL encoding mechanism.
Successful exploitation requires valid authentication.
The vulnerability is reported in versions 5.4 through 5.5.1.
2) It is possible to bypass filters and access restricted URLs by using capital letters in the domain.
The vulnerability is reported in versions 5.4 through 5.5.2.
Solution: Hotfixes are reportedly available via the technical support or via the vendor's download page.
