Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in Cisco IOS, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the handling of DLSw messages within the DLSw feature of Cisco IOS. This can be exploited to reload the device via a specially crafted DLSw message with an invalid option.

Successful exploitation requires that the DLSw feature is enabled and that a DLSw connection is first established.

The vulnerability reportedly affects all products running IOS software versions 11.0 through 12.4, which have the DLSw feature enabled. Other versions may also be affected.
