Description: LMH has reported a vulnerability in Mac OS X, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or potentially to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the "ATPsndrsp()" function and can be exploited to cause a kernel panic or potentially to execute code with escalated privileges.
Successful exploitation requires that AppleTalk is enabled.
The vulnerability is reported in Mac OS X 10.4.8 (x86). Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to Mac OS X 10.4.9 or install Security Update 2007-003.
