rgod has discovered a vulnerability in sNews, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the authentication process in snews.php, and can be exploited to reset the administrator password and gain access to the administration section.

NOTE: This can further be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a malicious PHP file.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.5.30. Other versions may also be affected.


Solution:
Update to version 1.5.31.
