KF and LMH have reported a vulnerability in Transmit, which can potentially be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the processing of "sftp://" URIs and can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via an overly long string.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code when e.g. visiting a malicious website.
The vulnerability is reported in version 3.5.5. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution:
Update to version 3.5.6.
