Description:
Peter Winter-Smith of NGSSoftware has reported a vulnerability in PGP Desktop, which can be exploited by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the handling of objects passed as parameters to the RPC interface of the PGP Desktop service (PGPServ.exe or PGPsdkServ.exe). This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code by sending a specially crafted object as the second parameter in the ordinal 1 function of the exposed RPC interface via named pipes (e.g. \pipe\pgpserv or \pipe\pgpsdkserv).

Solution:
Update to version 9.5.1.

Provided and/or discovered by:
Peter Winter-Smith, NGSSoftware.
