A vulnerability has been reported in AIX, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.
The vulnerability is caused due to a certain variable not being initialised in the various mail services (pop3d, pop3ds, imapd, and imapds) when checking passwords during the authentication process. This can be exploited to authenticate to the services with an invalid password when the user has "rlogin" set to "false".
