Description:
3APA3A has reported a vulnerability in HP OpenView Network Node Manager (NNM), which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The problem is that the HP OpenView NNM Remote Console sets insecure default permissions (grants the "Everyone" group "Full Control" permissions) on the "HP OpenView" directory and all child objects. This can be exploited to remove, manipulate, and replace any of the application's files.

The vulnerability is reported in version 7.50. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Set proper permissions on the application directory and all child objects.

Grant only trusted users access to affected systems.

Provided and/or discovered by:
3APA3A
