Description:
Doz has reported a vulnerability in vBulletin, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed to the form field "Extension" in admincp/attachment.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

Successful exploitation requires that the target user is logged in as an administrator.

NOTE: The vendor disputes the issue, as it requires administrative privileges to exploit.

The vulnerability is reported in version 3.6.4 downloaded before 2007-02-12. Other versions may also be affected.

Update to version 3.6.4 available from 2007-02-12.
