Beskrivelse:
Michal Zalewski har rapporteret en sårbarhed i Mozilla Firefox, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at omgå visse sikkerhedsforanstaltninger.

Sårbarheden skyldes en fejl under håndteringen af "locations.hostname" DOM-egenskaben. Dette kan udnyttes til f.eks. at manipulere godkendelses-cookies for vilkårlige websites ved at tildele en URL til "locations.hostname", der inkluderer en NULL-byte.

Succesfuld udnyttelse forudsætter, at brugeren f.eks. lokkes til at besøge et ondsindet website.

Sårbarheden er rapporteret i version 2.0.0.1, men andre versioner kan også være berørte.

NOTE: Andre problemer er også rapporteret, hvor nogle er relateret til "locations.hostname" DOM-egenskaben.
