CVE reference:CVE-2007-1126

Description:
Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in xt:Commerce, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information, conduct cross-site scripting and session fixation attacks.

1) Input passed to the "template" parameter in index.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local sources.

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.

NOTE: The vendor disputes the vulnerability by stating that this does not affect the original distribution of the product.

2) Input passed to the "keywords" parameter in advanced_search_result.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in the context of an affected site.

3) A vulnerability is caused due to an error when handling sessions, which can be exploited to hijack another user's session by e.g. tricking the user into logging in after following a specially crafted link.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Do not follow links from untrusted sources.

Provided and/or discovered by:
laurent gaffié and David Vieira-Kurz.

Changelog:
2007-03-01: Added note from vendor, who disputes the vulnerability.
2007-03-02: Added CVE reference.
2008-09-22: Added vulnerabilities #2 and #3, reported by David Vieira-Kurz.
