Description: James Clarke has reported a vulnerability in IBM Rational ClearQuest Web, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks.
Files submitted as attachments when e.g. logging defects are not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when a malicious attachment is viewed.
The vulnerability is reported in version 7.0.0.0. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Grant only trusted users access to the application.
