Description: A vulnerability has been reported in OpenAFS, which can be exploited by malicious users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to AFS cache managers not using authenticated connections for non-user-authenticated sessions. This can be exploited to gain escalated privileges by flushing the local cache and spoofing a "FetchStatus" reply with an executable setuid root and then running it.
Successful exploitation requires that setuid status for the local cell is enabled.
