Description:
shinnai has discovered two vulnerabilities in EDraw Office Viewer Component, which can be exploited by malicious people to delete arbitrary files or compromise a user's system.

1) The vulnerability is caused due to the EDraw Office Viewer Component (edrawofficeviewer.ocx) ActiveX control including the insecure "DeleteLocalFile()" method, which deletes a file specified as an argument. This can be exploited to delete arbitrary files on the system in the context of the currently logged-on user.

2) A boundary error within the EDraw Office Viewer Component (edrawofficeviewer.ocx) ActiveX control when handling the "HttpDownloadFile()" method can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long string passed as argument to the affected method.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 4.5.0.20. Other versions may also be affected.
