Gabriel Silva has discovered a vulnerability in MiniWeb HTTP Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error when processing the "Content-Length" header field of a POST request. This can be exploited to crash the server or to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted POST request.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is reported in version 0.8.19 and confirmed in version 0.8.180. Other versions may also be affected.
