Description: Chris Castaldo has reported a vulnerability in APC PowerChute Network Shutdown, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input sanitation error within the included Acme.Serve server. This can be exploited to access files inside the application's HTML root directory via certain character sequences.
The vulnerability is reported in version 2.21 build 116. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Filter malicious character sequences using a proxy or firewall.
This will reportedly be fixed in version 2.2.3, which is scheduled for Q4 2007.
