Description:
TippingPoint has reported a vulnerability in Symantec Veritas Storage Foundation, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the Scheduler Service (VxSchedService.exe) and can be exploited to bypass the built-in authentication in the management console and add, delete, and modify scheduled runs via a specially crafted request.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability affects Symantec Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows version 5.0.
