Description:
Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in CA ARCserve Backup for Laptops & Desktops, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions or compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Multiple boundary errors in the LGServer service when processing arguments passed to the rxsAddNewUser, rxsSetUserInfo, rxsRenameUser, rxsSetMessageLogSettings, rxsExportData, rxsSetServerOptions, rxsRenameFile, rxsACIManageSend, rxsExportUser, rxsImportUser, rxsMoveUserData, rxsUseLicenseIni, rxsLicGetSiteId, rxsGetLogFileNames, rxsGetBackupLog, rxsBackupComplete, rxsSetDataProtectionSecurityData, rxsSetDefaultConfigName, rxsGetMessageLogSettings, rxsHWDiskGetTotal, rxsHWDiskGetFree, rxsGetSubDirs, rxsGetServerDBPathName, rxsSetServerOptions, rxsDeleteFile, rxsACIManageSend, rxcReadBackupSetList, rxcWriteConfigInfo, rxcSetAssetManagement, rxcWriteFileListForRestore, rxcReadSaveSetProfile, rxcInitSaveSetProfile, rxcAddSaveSetNextAppList, rxcAddSaveSetNextFilesPathList, rxcAddNextBackupSetIncWildCard, rxcGetRevisions, rxrAddMovedUser, rxrSetClientVersion, rxsSetDataGrowthScheduleAndFilter, and rxrSetMessageLogSettings RPC requests can be exploited to cause stack-based buffer overflows by sending requests with overly long arguments to default port 1900/TCP.

2) Boundary errors when processing rxrLogin authentication credentials in the "GetUserInfo()" function can be exploited to cause stack-based buffer overflows by passing overly long arguments to the affected functions.

3) An integer underflow error when processing rxrLogin requests can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted request sent to default port 1900/TCP.

4) An input validation error in rxrReceiveFileFromServer can be exploited to e.g. upload and overwrite arbitrary files on the system using directory traversal attacks.

5) Missing authentication checks on certain command handlers can be exploited to e.g. execute commands available to the server administrator.
