Description:
Nir Rachmel has discovered a vulnerability in Mbedthis AppWeb, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or potentially compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error when handling the protocol part of an URL and can be exploited via a specially crafted HTTP request.

Successful exploitation allows crashing the service and may allow execution of arbitrary code, but requires that the product is built with logging enabled and installed with no "ErrorLog" directive in appweb.conf.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 2.2.2. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Set an "ErrorLog" directive in appweb.conf.
