Description:
shinnai has reported a vulnerability in TEC-IT's TBarCode TBarCode7 ActiveX control, which can be exploited by malicious people to overwrite arbitrary files.

The vulnerability is caused due to the TBarCode7 (TBarCode7.ocx) ActiveX control including the insecure "SaveImage()" method, which saves an image into a file specified as an argument. This can be exploited to overwrite and corrupt arbitrary files on the system in the context of the currently logged-on user.

The vulnerability is reported in version 7.0.2.3524. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 7.1.0 or upgrade to version 8.0.0.

Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
