Beskrivelse:
Der er rapporteret en sårbarhed i RealPlayer og Helix Player, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at kompromittere en brugers system.

Sårbarheden skyldes en fejl i wallclock funktionaliteten i "SmilTimeValue::parseWallClockValue()" ved håndtering af tidsformater. Dette kan udnyttes til at forårsage et stack-baseret buffer overflow via en SMIL fil med en lang specielt udformet streng.

Succesfuld udnyttelse kan føre til eksekvering af vilkårlig kode når en bruger f.eks. besøger et ondsindet website.

Sårbarheden er rapporteret i RealPlayer 10.5-GOLD. Andre versioner er muligvis også berørte.
