CVE reference:CVE-2006-5752
CVE-2007-3304

Description:
Red Hat has issued updates for apache. These fix vulnerabilities, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

1) An error exists in the mod_status module where the server-status page does not specify a charset . This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in an administrator's browser session in context of an affected site.

Successful exploitation requires that "ExtendedStatus" is enabled.

NOTE: On Red Hat Enterprise Linux the server-status page is not enabled by default.

2) An error in the Multi-Processing Module (MPM) can be exploited to send signals to arbitrary processes and cause them to be terminated.

Successful exploitation requires privileges to run code in context of the worker process, e.g. using the "dl()" function in PHP.

Solution:
Updated packages are available from Red Hat Network.
