Beskrivelse:
Daniel Soeder har rapporteret en sårbarhed i Sun Java JRE, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at kompromittere en brugers system.

Sårbarheden skyldes en ikke-kontrolleret buffer i Java Web Start komponenten (javaws.exe) under håndteringen af JNLP-filer. Dette kan udnyttes til at forårsage et stack-baseret buffer overflow via en specielt udformet JNLP-fil med en lang codebase-attribut.

Succesfuld udnyttelse muliggør eksekvering af vilkårlig kode, når en bruger f.eks. besøger et ondsindet website.
