Description: Aaron Portnoy has reported a vulnerability in Progress, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error within the Progress server (_mprosrv.exe) and can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by sending a specially crafted packet to default port 5520/TCP or 5530/TCP.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is reported in Progress 9.1E and OpenEdge 10.1x. Other versions may also be affected.
