Description: Robert Watson has reported some vulnerabilities in Generic Software Wrappers Toolkit, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to bypass certain security restrictions.
The vulnerabilities are caused due to race conditions in the filtering of multiple system calls wrappers when processing userspace arguments. This can be exploited to bypass access control restrictions and prevent the logging of certain actions.
NOTE: The vulnerabilities might lead to the execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the root user.
The vulnerabilities are reported in version 1.6.3. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Do not rely on the security provided by Generic Software Wrappers Toolkit.
Provided and/or discovered by: Robert Watson
