Description: Some security issues have been reported in Sun Solaris, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The security issues are caused due to errors within the handling of certain IOCTLs sent to the ATA disk driver, which can be exploited to cause a system panic.
The security issues are reported in Sun Solaris 8, 9, and 10 for the x86 platform with ATA disks installed. The SPARC platform is not affected.
