|
|
Description: Some vulnerabilities have been reported in 2532|Gigs, which can be exploited by malicious users to disclose sensitive information and compromise a vulnerable system, and by malicious people to disclose sensitive information and conduct SQL injection attacks.
1) Input passed to the "language" parameter in activateuser.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled and that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
2) Input passed to the "username" parameter in checkuser.php is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation allows to e.g. bypass the login mechanism.
3) Input passed to the "id" parameter in index.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local or external resources.
4) The backup.php script does not properly restrict access to the database backup functionality. This can be exploited to disclose sensitive information by accessing a specially crafted URL.
Successful exploitation of vulnerabilities #3 and #4 requires valid user credentials, but a combination with vulnerability #2 allows to bypass this.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.2.2 (vulnerability #1 is also confirmed in version 1.2.1). Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and verified. Restrict access to backup.php and backup.sql to trusted users only.
